Odylique Lipstick Review: The first lipsticks certified to Soil Association Organic AND Fairtrade standards!

After interviewing Abi Weeds, the founder of Odylique by Essential Care, I was fortunate enough to receive some of her brand’s fair-trade lipsticks to review! I was sent these products free of charge, but the opinions shared here are 100% my own.

Odylique sent me three beautiful shades to try: Raspberry Coulis, Fig Fondant, and Blackberry Smoothie. I have to admit that their names made me a bit hungry! These are the firstlipsticks with Fairtrade Certification and Soil Association Organic Certification, so I felt really good about trying them out and telling you about them! Each shade is also 100% natural and vegetarian, so what’s not to like? The case is also recyclable and the box is compostable.

In trying each on, I realized that they were incredibly moisturizing. I always try to avoid lipsticks that become dry and uncomfortable the longer they are worn, so Odylique’s products definitely fit the bill. The product is not heavy at all; it’s almost like wearing lip balm. When I took it off at the end of the day, my lips felt super smooth!

I noticed that the colors looked a bit lighter and more sheer when applied than on the lipstick itself, but this was perfect for me because I love wearing natural-looking makeup. Because they are not too bold, they can be worn during the day or night. You can also dress them up with lip gloss or put lipliner underneath to get a bolder color.

As for the staying power, I was very impressed! Usually, sheer lipsticks need to be reapplied frequently, but these products stayed on for hours without a problem.

I loved all three shades, but especially Fig Fondant! I think the subtly bright pigment complemented my skin tone nicely. Raspberry Coulis was the closest to my natural lip shade, so it is perfect for my day-to-day wear. Blackberry Smoothie was the darkest of the three, so I will be saving that for special nights out!

Overall, I would definitely recommend Odylique because of the brand’s top-notch quality, ethical values, and organic ingredients! Go give these lipsticks a try. You won’t regret it!
